The Pope Benedict XVI was in UK for a visit of four days. Actually, it’s kind of outstanding that the Pope came in UK because the principal religion is Anglicanism, or we can say the church of England. Medias were talking a lot about this event, like the well-known conservator newspaper THE TIMES. The head of state of Vatican met Elizabeth II in Scotland, and also the prime minister David Cameron. Then, he met the crowd, baby kissing. however, there was less people than John Paul II in 1987. Why ? Maybe because Benedict XVI is less charismatic than John Paul II, moreover, there is paedophilia scandal. English don’t trust Catholiscism the great majority. That’s why we’re gonna recall the history of the schism between the church of England, and the church of Rome, and describe the relationship today between them.
Pope Benedict XVI beatified John Newman during his UK Visit. He’s gonna make him a saint. John Newman was a priest who was anglican, but he converted to catholiscism because he prefered come back to god’s values. However, anglicans considerate him like a good man too. So, in a way, Anglicanism and Catholism are linked by this man. That’s why, the beatification by Benedict II is very important for the relationship between the two church, because it makes closer this two religion, and maybe forget the conflicts which ravage for example in Ireland, and for the pop to make forget the sad picture of a chuch touched by the pedophilia
