I. History
The BURGER KING franchise is founded by James Mclamore and David Edgerton in 1954. The first restaurant opened in Miami, it called Insta-Burger King.
Burger King is a fast food. The Burger King menu has evolved from a basic offering of burgers, fries, sodas and milkshakes in 1954, to a larger, more diverse set of product offerings. The signature hamburger of burger king is the Whopper. He introduced in 1957, and he sold 37 cents.
In 1958, burger king made his first TV advertisement. In 1967, after eight years of private operation, Burger King is sold to the Pillsbury Company for more rapid expansion.
In 1975, Burger King introduces the drive-through.
In 1979, Burger King introduces the breakfast menu.
In 1998, Burger King updates their logo and remodels restaurants.

II. Burger king in the world

In 1959 burger king begins franchising in US, he begin a westward expansion.
In 1963 he opened the first Burger king outside of the US in Puerto Rico.
Shortly after the acquisition of the chain by Pillsbury, it opened its first international restaurant in Canada in 1969 and in Europe in 1975 with a restaurant in Madrid, Spain.
Beginning in 1982, Burger King and its franchisees began operating stores in several East Asian countries.
In 1997 burger King closed his 39 restaurant in France.

III. Burger King today

The BURGER KING(R) system operates more than 12,000 restaurants in all 50 states and in 76 countries and U.S. territories worldwide. Approximately 90 percent of BURGER KING(R) restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees, many of them family-owned operations that have been in business for decades.
