II/ EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

After initially considering opening a restaurant in which the customer cooks their own food, weinstead decided to open a Tai Chi club. Why exactly this kind of shop?
Our group is multicultural with French and Chinese members. We thought that it would be a good idea to find a product or service, which would follow our several cultures and which would be innovative. That’s why we have chosen to start a venture based on this following idea: allow people to discover something different andsomething which can relate to the current situation.
The aim is simple: propose to the customer all the forms of Tai Chi taught by an appropriate teacher in our club or at their home. Offering several levels in order to learn this martial art whenever you want and at your own rhythm, our club, called the “Rising Dragon Tai Chi club”, will help people under pressure to relax themselves.

Our group, willbe the owners of this firm and we have established a two year plan to ensure that our project will succeed. First of all, we think that this project will succeed because we are in a period where people are stressed all the time because they have to deal with their family, their work, and all the other concerns of the everyday life. This is the main opportunity of our business. Known as adiscipline based on relaxation and how to deal with stress, Tai Chi will help those people to breathe in this fast paced life. According to a French study on 500 peoples (“Créatest”), 41% of them would like to go into a health club and start Tai Chi or relaxation or massages. Many scientists recognize that hour for hour Tai Chi is probably the most effective exercises to improve health and wellbeing. It’sobvious that in this time of the credit crunch, households are more focused on other vital products but it could be a good point for our venture. People will be more stressed because of the recession and they will think about starting to learn these special Martial arts which could help them to relax.
Our club offers several types of lesson and several products, such as DVD and CD, to learn morequickly how to practice Tai Chi at affordable prices. We have decided to base ourselves in Glasgow, especially the Merchant city area. Why exactly this area? After having done some studies including administering a questionnaire to find out exactly what the public think about this art and if they are ready to start it, and contacting the chamber of Commerce to find out the main competitors in...
