1970s : 1st use of real time datatransferts in BtoB for Electronic Funds
Transferts (EFT) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) – Professionals use the web (not yet www) essentially to transmit purchase orders or invoices Online shopping, 1st integrated system for electronic commerce, was invented by Michael Aldrich in the UK in 1979

1980s : development of credit card Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) as a
form of electroniccommerce and the future tools of secured payment. All transactions use the switched public phone with a very poor Broad Band The travel booking systems SABRE (USA) and TRAVICOM (UK) start to be used Worldwide by Travel Agencies

1990s :

In 1991 Tim Berners-Lee writes the first web browser, WorldWideWeb, using a NeXT computer and invented the World Wide Web by transforming an academictelecommunication network into a worldwide everyman everyday communication system called internet/www.

1990s : Commercial enterprise on the Internet was prohibited until 1991.
Although the Internet became popular worldwide around 1994, it took about fiveyears to introduce security protocols and DSL (Digital Suscriber Line) allowing continual connection to the Internet.

1994 : Netscape releases the Navigator browser in October under the code
name Mozilla. Netscape 1.0 is introduced in late 1994 SSL encryption that made transactions secure. Opening of Amazon.com (2 years after the 1st bookshop: Books.com ) Pizza Hut offers pizza ordering onits Web page. The first online bank opens. Attempts to offer flower delivery and magazine subscriptions online. Adult materials also becomes commercially available, as do cars and bikes.

1995: Jeff Bezos launches Amazon.com (1st yearly profits in 2003)

1998 : Google is founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin 1999 : Business.com sold for US $7.5 million to eCompanies, which was
purchased in 1997 for US $149,000. The peer-to-peer filesharing software Napster launches. ATG Stores launches to selldecorative items for the home online.

2000: After 5 years of marketing and technical investments and pure
phantasm about fast spreading of e-commerce the dot-com bubble bust. Just because of a simple missing : Customers are not here!!! At this time, the market will re-start essentially with new economic models wich brings new services and easy purchase modes. At the same time, customers begin...
