Most major radio, television and telecommunication compagnies in the USA are based here as well as many news, magazine, book and other media publishers. Manhattan has many famous lendmarks tourist, attractions, museums and universities. Manhattan has the largest central buisness district in the United states. The name manhattan derives from word manna-hata. The word « manhattan » has been translated as « island of many hills » from the lenape language. The area that is now long inhabited by the Lenape.
