He became pastor also and he married the 18 June 1953 with Coretta Scott and had four children.

The last words he pronounced it was for musician Ben Branch. He said: "Ben plan to play Precious Lord, Take My Hand, at the meetingtonight. Bend of the most beautiful way."
He was pronouncing dead at St. Joseph hospital at 19.05. After that, a wave of racial riots erupted in 60 cities of the country who were making lots of death andwere forcing the intervention of the government.
