I) The environnement :

House > is lost in the wilderness a windmill frame without a wheel and the narrator compares it at a skeletton ( L 6.7 ) seems to be a ghost house ( nobody live there ) seems to be abandonned but it wasn't ( L 6.7 ) we can forsee that the house is not confortable seems hidden at 1st J not see the house and when he came closer he saw the door,the window, the walls & the thatched roof ( L 1 . 6-7 )
J seems come accross by mere chance. the shimedas are ruined ( " ruend " ) because K has sold the house at a higher price than the house was worth.

II ) Characters

Mrs Shimera wear typical clothes didn't look not young and not old be full of hope ( L 9; expect bohemian help ) dynamic & energetic ( L 13-14 ) Thankeful & grateful clever and calculating ( L 13 )

Mr Shimera look old ( L 51 ) tall and thin very pale ( L 58 ) not be energetic, not be strong enough to be a farmer be neatly dressed be elegant ( L 61) He feels sad because in his eyes we can see that he is melancholy and his voice is mournful .
He feels depressed, homesick and disappointed by his new country. He speaks not properly English.
