In 1972, a dramatic event occurred in the life of Mr. Isama Masuda. With the birth of his first child, this peaceful man grew concerned about health. As a new father, he also, naturally became concerned about his family’s health, as well. Working as a clerk in the public transportation industry, he had to learn how to stretch a meager income. All this prompted him to look for a solution to his concerns about physical and financial health. Mr. Masuda found it in a public bathhouse that had pebbles on the floor to create a natural massaging effect on the feet. An idea was born.
