Social and media context of Star Wars IV.
The fourth episode of Star Wars also known as « A new hope » tells the story of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi. At the begining of the movie the galaxy is in war, we learn that Princess Leia has stolen the plan of the Death Star which is the space stations of the bad guys, the Imperial forces. While trying to escape the princess is captured by Darth Vador and hides the plan in the droid R2-D2. The droid successfully escape but is captured by Jawa and is sold to Luke Skywalker's familly. Later Luke finds Obi-Wan Kenobi who decides to train him in order to make him a Jedi. After seeing the message of help hidden in R2-D2 they decide to rush to Princess Leia's help. In order to get to the princess they need a spaceship and a pilot who will become Han Solo that accepts this dangerous mission because he has a lot of money problems. The whole movie is about the Jedi, the pilot and the young man helped by the two droids rescuing the princess.
There are many themes like the the power of the force, authority, independance or personal freedom.
Although in this episode of Star Wars the charactors do not use the force as often as in the other Star Wars' movies it is still very important as Obi-Wan initiate the young Luke to the power of the force. When Luke's parents die Obi-Wan takes their rôle ( for some dark reason I can not write a normal « o » thanks to my french computer) as Luke's mentor. The board of directors in the Death Star also have a lot of influence on Darth Vador. Personal freedom has also its importance in this episode of Star Wars as the princess is
