Ted Kennedy was born 22 February 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts. It is the youngest of nine children Joseph Patrick Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. It is the younger brother of John and Robert Kennedy.

Ted Kennedy was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1962 at the seat left vacant by his brother John, elected President of the United States in November 1960.
