How much did the UK take advantage of keeping its currency in comparison with France which is in the European Union?

B uilding an European union means a huge cooperation between all the European nations has to be set up. The first and the most important aim had been instituted: peace.
Nevertheless, lots of difficulties have appeared: exchanges rates’ crisis, oil chocks, Germany’s reunification, adherence of new countries…. And yet, at last but not least, national feelings are great obstacles for the cooperation between all the members.
The new worldwide dynamic has made of this cooperation an essential thing: that means several sovereign powers are going to be lost. Especially, the problem of the unique currency, the euro, is a huge one the European Union has to deal with. Some countries have accepted it, like, among others, France, some others didn’t, like United Kingdom. The monetary Union (from the European website: europa.eu)
The Euro currency is a real symbol of the European building and also a symbol of a common future. As the Union has not finished building yet, the United Kingdom has time to mature its opinion...but, how much did the UK take advantage of keeping its currency in comparison with France which is in the European Union too?

Indeed France accepted the euro for many reasons: first an union was necessary for its policy in Europe.
