Introduction
The FIFA World Cup is a major event in the football world, probably the most seen competition in the whole world. During one month, thirty-two national teams play to reach the final and win the Jules Rimet Cup. Indeed, Jules Rimet was the creator of this competition in 1928. Until 2010, eight nations had already win the tournament. In 2010, Spain won its first title against Netherlands. The last competition was a little special because it was the first time the FIFA World Cup was organised by an African country. Just a football competition at the beginning, today the FIFA World Cup is far more than that. It can be an important boost for the economy of a country, or, like the Olympic Games, it’s an occasion to show the economic, industrial and social improvment of a country (South Korea in 2002, Brazil in 2014). For these reasons and other, the organisation of the competition is well disputed. Plus, it’s often an advantage for the national team of the organiser. Indeed, France win in 1998 during France 98, England in 66, ... The United States of America and Russia are two of the five candidates for the organisation of the FIFA World Cup 2018. The bids are not only for 2018 but also for 2022. Thus Russia and the USA will have to face the competition of : - England : Already organised one time in 1966 - Belgium and Netherlands together : Already organised the European Championship - Spain and Portugal together : Portugal has already organised the European Championship Among these five bids, Russia is the less experienced.
