Berlin during the cold war
The Two Super powers which emerged from the second world war have their ideas completely opposed and that in all aspects, cases .. thay have their own vision of thinking .. and they want to spread their own ideology to the world, dominate the world with their ideology that's why the world at the end of the war is divided into two camps there is the capitalism with the usa in one side and the communism with the urss in the other side. So we talk of " the cold war " , usa and urss are fighting all over the world indirectly by peripheric conflicts as in korea ... or in this case Germany.
So let's talk about Berlin during the cold war which is the main topic here.
Before and near the end of the second world war ,the allied leaders which are ( gb , usa and urss ) held conferences in order to take decisions about Germany. The first conference hav been held at Yalta and the second one at Potsdam.
Indeed , the leaders decided that Germany would be divided into four occupied zones which will be administrated respectively to the leaders , american , soviet , british and including a french zone!
Berlin would also be divided into four sectors administred for the leaders.
The Governement is let in the hands of the allied powers until a new and safer germany emerged , they don't want to repeat the same mistake of world war 1 : heavy reparations forced from germany under treaty of versailles provide the conditions for the growth of nazism, allied powers want to see a revived germany with a strong industry and a democratic government which will create some tensions between americans and soviets . . . ( tensions over the reorganisation of Germany )
So for this work i will focused on 4 documents , in particulary a british cartoon from 1948 named " the bird watcher " which reprensents the berlin airlift , and then a graph which shows the number of people who escaped from east germany to west germany
Thirdly , an extract of a famous
