Facebook is an incredible worldwide phenomenon. Other sites such as MySpace are quite similar, but Facebook is now considered as the world’s leading social networking site. It allows people to interact with an awesome expansive virtual world of new people. It is the fastest growing social network with more than 450 million active users worldwide. Today, we will introduce you this innovation and takes a look at where Facebook has been and where it is going!

When it was launched?

The original site named Thefacebook was launched in February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg who had written site program alone. Then, Mark Zuckerberg asked a couple of friends to help him to develop the site. The founders are Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The website’s membership founded Facebook while they were students at Harvard University. In June 2004, the Facebook headquarter was set place in Palo Alto, California. And the company was renamed the site facebook.com in 2005.

At the beginning, the membership was limited to Harvard but the expansion suddenly grew up and nowadays Facebook is the biggest social networking in the world because it is particularly designed to connect users and to give people the power to share anything. Facebook permits us to keep in touch with our friends, even the friends of your friends, and learn more about the people they meet. Anyone can sign up for free and create profiles that include personal interests, musical tastes, photos, movies, friends, pictures… writing on your “wall”.
