Professeur distingué S.C. Johnson & Son de marketing international à la Kellogg School of Management, Université de Northwestern, Evanston, Illinois.
Pour la plupart des étudiants en sciences de gestion, son nom représente un livre plutôt qu’une personne. Son ouvrage phare : « Le Marketing Management » est considéré comme étant la « bible » de la discipline Marketing.
Mais les travaux du professeur Philip KOTLER vont bien au delà. Il a étendu l’intérêt de la matière à des domaines comme le marketing social ou le marketing des organisations à but non lucratif de manière générale. Il s’est intéressé entre autres au marketing des musées, des arts vivants, des hôpitaux ou de l’éducation.
