Je suis très contente d’avoir de tes nouvelles, et de savoir que tu te débrouille si bien en Californie, félicitation pour ton nouveau travail. Avant de répondre à ta proposition, je voudrais te dire que j’ai trouvé un boulot raisonnable en tant que gouvernante et que tout comme toi, je ne me débrouille pas si mal ici à Mullen’s Alley, pour être honnête je ne manque presque de rien. Mais c’est avec plaisir que j’accepte de te rejoindre, il est vrai que je pourrai rester ici mais je me sens, à vrais dire un peu seule, ta compagnie et celle de Patrick me manque et puis je pourrai toujours chercher un travail là bas et je sais que je pourrais toujours compter sur vous. Je ne serai pas un fardeau pour toi et je suis si impatiente de te revoir, je te remercie profondément pour tout ton aide, passe une bonne journée.

Your proposal made me think a lot and before you answer, I would like to tell you that I found a proper job as nanny where I’ll get $20 a month room and board, and just like you I don’t manage so badly here in Mullen’s Alley even if these are hard times, to be honest I lack for anything almost.
