Introduction:
London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. It is the UK's largest and most populous metropolitan area and the largest urban zone in the European Union by most measures.
Geographic situation:
London is situated in the south east of England at nearly forty five kilometres of the sea.

It’s cut into thirty three districts like Westminster city. The greater London urban area has a superficy of one thousand seven hundred kilometres square while the London metropolitan agglomeration covers an area of eight thousand four hundred kilometres square.
Thames :
The city is split by the River Thames into North and South.
History :
Its history goes back to its founding by the Romans, who called it Londinium. The city had known several destruction and fire in particular during the Second World War who killed over thirty thousands Londoners.
Demography :
The Greater London Urban Area has a population of about eight million while the metropolitan area has an estimated total population of between twelve million and fourteen million. There are a lot of ethnical groups like Indians.

The first famous symbol of London is the double decker bus which is traditionally red and dated of the beginning of the twentieth century but nowadays we can found only dozen of this old bus because they have been replaced.

London underground is one of the oldest, longest, and most expansive metro systems in the world, dating from eighteen sixty three. It's also named the tube and serves two hundred seventy stations.
Eurostar :
London is linked with Paris and Bruxelles thanks to the channel tunnel and the Eurostar which arrived in the train station of Saint Pancras.
