Narative
Two weeks later, I left Vietnam.
The ceremony was kicked off with a candid speech by the president regarding the need for further escalation of the war in Vietnam. Johnson awarded 4 models of Honor to men from each of the armed services.

(On TV)
President ( to Gump ) : America owes you a debt of gratitude, son.
(at the ear )
I understand you were wounded. Where were you hit
Forrest Gump : In the but-tocks, sir.
President : Well, that must be a sight. I’d kinda like to see that.
(Gump show his but-tocks to the president)

Forrest Gump : I going back to vietnam, but instead the think that the best way for me to fight the communists was to play ping-pong. So I was in the special services traveling around the country.
I was so good that some years later the army decided I should be on the all-american ping-pong team.
We were the first americans to visit the land of china in a million years or something. Somebody said world peace was in your hands, but all I did was to play ping-pong.

An officer give a discharge papers to Gump for the end of his service to the United States Army.
