The company has been created in Brussels in 1926. Since its creation, Godiva has become one of the most famous brands of chocolates trough the world. Its popularity is due to its passion for innovation and luxury.
Godiva was the first to create the concept of premium chocolates by combination of fabulous products, stimulant advertisements, sophisticated packaging and selective distribution.

The company is the leader in premium confectionery. From New York to Paris to Tokyo, it’s Godiva that brings the best of Belgium trough the world.
Its main competitors in Belgium are Leonidas, Côte d’or, Corné, Nehaus… But Godiva’s ranked at the top of the pyramid.
Worldwide, there are two main market competitors which are SEES and GHIRARDELLI but the company has a good market share.
Its primary target is women and men between 30 to 62 years and it tries to have larger discretionary incomes by the existence of the service “Business Gifts”. This service produces special pack for special events: anniversaries, trade shows, lunches, weddings…..

Range:
GODIVA owns a large range of products: * Truffles * Coffee * Cacao * Biscuits * Plunged fruits * Drinks of “Chocolixir” * Seasonal products (Saint Valentine’s period) and limited editions with special packaging during nearly each holiday (Christmas, Easter….) * License agreements for the production of ice-creams, cheese cakes and liqueurs ( put in different saviors of chocolates).
12 Years after its creation Godiva has opened a boutique in Paris and some years later in New York. Today there are more than 600 shops distributed in 80 countries. The company is present in the majority of European Countries but also in Bresil, Emirates, Russia… And the chocolate is sold in the majority of the duty free of the world.
Godiva employs about 350 people and produces more than 250 million kilo of chocolates.
85% of its production is exported. The chocolates are produced only in Brussels
