DEEPA TARANGINI
This exquisite item is a scintillating performance by the students, on the inverted mud pots with lit candles in their hands which in turn depicts the lighting of the lamp of true knowledge to dispel darkness of ignorance. `Tamaso Ma Jyothirgamaya (Lead me from darkness unto light is our fervent prayer to the ALMIGHTY).
Pushpanjali:
This is an invocation and a floral offering to the lord of dancing, Lord Nataraja, to the guru and the sabha.

Talam: Adi
Swaramaalika:
This is a pure nritta item , woven with intricate steps and beautiful dance postures, set to the swara passages of Ragam Hamsanandhi and Aadi Thala. This musical composition has been composed by Smt. Prema Ramamoorthy.
SRI KRISHNA LEELA TARANGINI: (PLATE AND POT DANCE)
This plate and pot dance was first taught in the year 1926, (by Sri K.C.Varadachari) to Sri E.Krishna Iyer, a young lawyer who played an important role in the revival of Bharatha Natyam. A sanskrit pandit, who was then an admirer of his dancing, gave him a sentence from MANUSMRITI which means, that Lord Krishna said He has created the liquid element first, energised it and then created the rest of the cosmos. So, the plate is considered as the ocean, viz., liquid element and the mud pot as the rest of the cosmos. E.Krishna Iyer danced on the plate first and then on the pot , in Bharatanatyam technique and interpreted the whole dance to[suggest] the Lord as saying : " I created water first, then the rest of the cosmos.
