Summary: The understanding and enforcement of the cognitive approach - one of the complements of the communicative approach -, learning rules, cognitive styles as well as specific aspects of situations of teaching-learning of foreign languages in general and the French one in particular, can better improve the quality of such a teaching and allow good results for DELF / DALF exams. In order to be more rewarding and therefore more effective, active teaching-learning of the French language needs to spread over a period adapted to learners’ obligations and be based on their motivation, their pleasure in learning, and the variation of the types of exercise carried out by means of new technologies along with the explaining and use of general techniques of the intellectual work. They are the few principles that the following article tries to present and analyze.
