J'espère que tout va bien à la maison. C'était très difficile d'avoir de tes nouvelles pendant tout ce voyage et cette première semaine j'ai eu beaucoup de travail, et je suis déçu de ne pas avoir était là pour ton anniversaire, mais tu sais très bien que je suis allée à Brighton pour de bonnes raisons. Hier, j'ai adhéré à la VADs (Voluntary Aud Detachments). Je suis donc devenue une infirmière comme j'ai toujours rêvé dans mon enfance. Cependant c'est très différents de ce que je pensais. En effet les trois premiers jours j'étais très fatiguée et seule mais maintenant j'ai rencontré une fille : son nom est Lesley Smith. Elle a 19 ans, donc nous sommes les plus jeunes personnes de la VADs. J'ai su pour la mort de papa mais Brian est là pour s'occuper de toi, et je peux être fier de mon petit frère ! Voir le texte 10. Cependant j'ai pris des vacances donc je viendrai surement bientôt vous voir.

Dear Mother, I hope everything is going well at home. It was very difficult to hear from you during the traveling and this first week I had a lot of work, and I am disappointed because I wasn't there for your birthday, but you know very well that I went in Brighton for good reasons. Yesterday I joined the VADs (Voluntary Detachments Aid). So I became a nurse as I have always dreamed in my childhood. However it is very different from what I thought. Indeed the first three days I was very tired and alone but now I met a girl, her name is Lesley Smith. She's 19, so we are the youngest girls in the VADs. I heard about Dad's death, it's terrible, I'm very sad about it and I can wait to come back home with all of you, my lovely family. But Brian is here to look after you, and I can be proud of my little brother ! If
