I’m going to speak about an American movie produces in 1992 by Spike Lee, called Malcolm X. Firstly i’m going to present the characters: - Denzel Washington in the role of Malcolm X - Albert Hall in the role of Baines - Angela bassett in the role of Betty Shabazz - All Freeman Jr. in the role of Elijah Muhammad.
It’s a movie embodying the life of Malcolm X also I’m going to explain the movie and the life on this ambiguous character.
Malcolm X had a very tormented and eventful life. Indeed, he lived different experiences which contributed to steeling this character and made him become a myth: Malcolm X.
Malcolm X’ childhood was commun for a black child. Indeed, he had to face discrimination at school for example. He was treated as if he was invisible. He was called “NIGGER “. Moreover, his family suffered several persecution raids from the KKK. This persecution was due to the implication of his father into a black movement which aim was the creation of a country for black people in Africa. In fact, Malcolm X’ father was racist against White people, and because of his opinion, he was killed by the KKK. After his father’s death, his mother was sent to a mental hospital, and the whole family (they were 8 siblings) was dispatched into different families. After this hard childhood, Malcolm X was turned into a ruthless world of drugs dealing, crime and thefts.
Because of the misery during his childhood, it was really hard to avoid this black destiny. That’s why it is no wonder that Malcolm X became a criminal. His criminal mind led him to prison where he met a member of the “Nation of Islam”, a Black Muslim movement. First, Malcolm X rejected the new ideas of this man, who saw the evil in white population, because Malcolm X wanted to be like white people. After a while in prison, this idea convinced him and he changed his way of life to become a member of the “Nation of Islam” and devoted his life to Allah, and to black people cause. When
