Marilyn Monroe was born in Los Angeles, California, on the first of June 1926 by the name of Norma Jeane Mortenson, and died on the fifth of August 1962. She was an actress, singer and model.
She began her carrier as a model, which led to a movie contract in 1946.
The final years of her life were marked by illness, personal problems and a reputation of being unreliable and difficult to work with. Her death is officially classified as a “probable suicide”, but the possibility of an accidental overdose as well as the possibility of a homicide have not been ruled out.
Marilyn was a very charming woman who had many lovers and husbands (three). Among them, there was the writer Arthur Miller, the base-ball champion Joe DiMaggio, the president John Fitzgerald Kennedy and his brother Robert, and a French actor, Yves Montand.

You can see one of Monroe’s most famous photographs, where she is standing on an air-blowing system. She’s wearing a white dress which is being blown up by the air and she is trying to keep it down, so it doesn’t hide her face or show her body.

Marilyn Monroe began her carrier, with brown hair, as a model which led to a movie contract in 1946. Her first movie appearances were minor but she quickly became famous: her first major appearances were in 1950 (All about Eve) and 1953 (Gentlemen prefer blondes and How to marry a millionaire). She received a Golden Globe nomination in 1956 for her dramatic performance in Bus Stop. She also received a Golden Globe award for her performance in Some Like It Hot.
