Pourquoi désirer l'impossible?
Clément: Hi Alex, I think that you should have a look at this site : http://www.artinthepicture.com/paintings/ there are beautiful paintings on it. I especially like "Soleil Levant"(http://www.artinthepicture.com/paintings/Claude_Monet/Impression-Sunrise/) by Claude Monet, you know the French impressionist painter. On this painting, he uses colours that make a constrast between the cold sea and the burning sky where the sun is rising. It makes me think about a kind of dream, the scene does not sound real. What do you think about it ?
Alexandre: Hi Clement, I just received your mail. Thank you for the website, it's nice. There are some very beautiful paintings. About "Rising Sun" I think you're right. I like it but I think it is too abstract for me. I prefer concrete paintings like this picture of Van Gogh, a famous painter from Netherlands, "Skull With Burning Cigarette" ((http://www.artinthepicture.com/paintings/Vincent_van_Gogh/Skull-with-Burning-Cigarette/) because it highlights the problems of smoking today. Van Gogh may have doubted that the cigarrette was a real danger, but unfortunately only a few people believed him.
Clément: I find that skeleton quite dark however it has a stance that make me think that it does not take care of the public, it's funny. I have found another nice painting on the site : it's called "The tree of life"(http://www.artinthepicture.com/paintings/Gustav_Klimt/The-Tree-of-Life/) The tree symbolizes a link between the ground and the sky : it has deep roots and high branches. It could be a way between the heaven and the underworld. It was painted by Gustav Klimy, an austrian painter who lived during the 19th-20th centuries. In my opinion the painting looks quite strange but that makes it attractive, don't you think ?
Alexandre: hmm I find this picture weird . What happened? He failed, right? I don't know, I think this painting is ugly, but it's my opinion.Ooh look at that! This one is the best! Looks like
