A) History of Apple
Founded by Steve Jobs and Steven Wosniak and Ronald Wayne in Cupertino (headquarters) in California the first April 1976. For its first 30 years the company was called Apple Computer Inc, now it’s called Apple Inc.. The first computer was the Apple I produced in 1976 and sold at 50 copies.
The first success of the brand was the Apple II: another computer created in 1977. It was sold at 35 000 copies.
Today, Apple is an American multinational corporation. Since 1980, Apple is quoted on the stock exchange and especially on NAZDAQ (It’s an American stock exchange for new technologies. In 1984 the company launches the first Macintosh. Then the Imac, Ipod Iphone and Ipad will follow.
The first store was created in 2001 at Los Angeles. So this brand employs a lot of employees ( 46 000) because Apple has a lot of stores all over the world and they need a lot of engineers in order to always improve their products.
B) Focus on Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was born at San Francisco in 1955. In 1977 he meets Steve Wozniak. Together, in 1976 they founded Apple Computer Inc.
In 1980, Steve Jobs became the youngest American millionnaire !
In 1985 Jobs resigned of Apple, because he was no more the boss.
The profits collapses dramatically. So, in 1997 Jobs came back in Apple. And the profits instantly grew.
In 2000, Steve Jobs became the Chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple.
Now, Jobs suffers of a pancreatic cancer.
The January 27th 2010, he presented the Ipad.
