Apport des Technologies d’Énergie Renouvelables dans la lutte contre la Pauvrété, la Deforestation et le Changement Climatique en République Démocratique du Congo Prof. Dr. Ir. Bernard NDAYE NKANKA Spécialiste en Planification et Gestion des Systèmes Énergétiques Institut Supérieur de Techniques Appliquées ISTA- Kinshasa RD CONGO e-mail : bndaye@yahoo.fr Tél : (+243) 898917700 Abstract: Human activities, especially those related to the exploitation, commercialisation and primary energy consumption are the underlying reason for the impoverishment of biodiversity. This impoverishment leads to the pollution and degradation (including desertification) of the soil and water, to atmospheric pollution, to the decrease of the necessary aquiferous resources in ecosystems that really need them like the urban systems, and to the impoverishment of the ozone. The summits in Rio (Brasilia 1992), in Kyoto (Japan 1997), in Johannesburg (South Africa 2002) and lately in Montreal (Canada December 2005) tried to elaborate rules that would reverse this tendency which is dangerous for the environment, for us, for our economy and for our descendants. Energy consumption in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is unfortunately predominated by traditional combustibles (especially wood), which represent more than 85%. These combustibles entail a serious waste of the beautiful and often limited local wood resources, besides generating considerable amounts of contaminating emissions that seriously affect the health of those using them. Nevertheless, in this article we demonstrate how the DRC has, several renewable resources capable of contributing through the News Technologies to limit the use of the wood and to preserve the forestry ressources away from the deforestation and the desertification, and also to contribute to the reduction of poverty.
