Well, I'm going to tell you a few words about the novelist Willa Cather, she was born in a village of Virginia in the USA. At the age of ten her father decided to move into the state of Nebraska, where Willa met many immigrants families who will be her inspiration for the writing of the novel untitled My Antonia published in 1918, this work looks like Willa's life it takes place in the USA, we can find common points between this novel and the reality of Willa's childhood. The two main characters are Jim Burden and Antonia Shimerda. This novel shows the regionalist style of the author because she is talking about her childhood in the border.

Now I'm going to talk about the first pages of the novel, we may assume that, contrary to the rest of the novel, the narrator is a childhood friend of Jim Burden. In this chapter the narrator is talking about the past that is to say her memories and her childhood composed of beautiful landscapes, she is also talking with Jim about the evolution of their situations, the social ascent of Jim. The scene takes place on the one hand into the train in countryside and on the other hand in the narrator's flat in New York. We learn in this chapter that both of the two characters decided to write down memories about their childhood friend Antonia. Willa Cather has been inspired by her own story and also by the notes of Jim Burden to write My Antonia.
