Robert Doisneau

Robert Doisneau was born on April 14th, 1912, to Gentilly, in the suburb of Paris.
Stemming from a family shared between the girl-bourgeoisie and the labor small business sector ,he lived in the house which served as workshop of plumbing until 1925, year of its entrance to the School Estienne
He acquired training engraving and lithography, and then, with a first device borrowed, he learned the subtleties in the field of photography.
In 1931 he became assistant to André Vigneau, renowned photographer. Doisneau thus enters the world of avant-garde; and this work was for him a major influence in his career.
Photographer employee of Renault in 1934, it sets in its objective the workers in their world of work.

Five years later, he became a freelance illustrator and photographer, in 1946; he joined the Rapho agency newly created.
Friend of Blaise Cendrars, who is the source of her first book The suburbs of Paris, great friend of Jacques Prevert, with whom he traveled tirelessly on the streets of Paris, he also met Picasso.
Among the awards he has received, retain the Kodak in 1947 and in 1956, the price Niepce. The artist expresses his vision of the world with photographs published in numerous magazines andjournals, among others, Vogue, Photo, Point and Woman for which he produced portraits of personalities.
Robert Doisneau continued to lead his life as a photographer until October 1993, when he fell ill. He died on 1 April 1994, when the project took shape a superb retrospective of his work at the Musée Carnavalet
