RESUME :
La presente etude contient la methodologie d'une recherche bibliographique, une bibliographie specialisee et une synthese au sujet du terme "siecle des Lumieres" qui designe generalement le 18e siecle. Troas aspects structurent le theme : L'origine et la semantique du terme "lumiere(s)"; sa valeur metaphorologique; finalement, 1'autodeflnition du 18e siecle et ses concepts philosophiques de 1'histoire.

ABSTRACT:
The present study consists of a bibliographic search, compilation and survey to the subject
"siecle des Lumieres" as a term designating the eighteenth century in its historical evolution. The theme is devided into three parts : The origin and the semantics of the term
"lumiere(s)"; the metaphorical signification of "light" / "enlightenment" ; finally, the selfdefmition of the eighteenth century and its philosophical concepts of history.
