Report 0n building productive capacities and Economic infrastructure

INTRODUCTION CEMAC is the most important economic community in central Africa, with 6 member states. The CEMAC regional GDP in 2007 was us$ 58Bn according to the world bank in 2007 total population was just under 40 ml the average GDP capital for the 2002 -2006 weighted by the population was of the order of magnitude US$757 although CEMAC is home to two of richest African economies in 2007 equatorial Guinea showed US$ 8,207 per person and Gabon US$ 4,435 per person on the other hand ,central African republic and Chad score among the poorest economies in the continent with GDP per capital of US$228 AND us$260 per person 2006 total trade of CEMAC accounted for roughly US$27Bn with a share of intra-group trade of 0.9 % probably testifying on short comings of the regional integration process . For the aggregate period 2002 -2006 each African citizen living in member states of CEMAC received US$ 52 IN AFT AID, the highest share of which, 46% to develop economic infrastructure. Trade related adjustments and building productive capacities accounted respectively for 29% and 25% this translated to US$880ml for economic infrastructure, US$ 551 ml for trade related adjustments and US$486ml to building productive capacities. total amount of the regions aft is just under US$ 2bn and in absolute terms is much less when compared to other Recs but growth rates of such flows are the strongest on the continent showing an average growth for the period 2002-2006 of 38% nearly doubling total AFT to the CEMAC region in 2005 .

Top recipient is Cameroon with US$740ml, followed by Chad with US$462ml. for these two countries together, the share of AFT amounts to 63% of regions AFT finance. Their combined population figure in 2007 was 29ml, being 74% of total population. Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and principle receive the least AFT
