• I used to live in a village, in the Nuba mountains, with my family . One night, when I was 12, we heard a noise outside. The village was under fire, people were screaming and there were riders everywhere. My father and I ran and ran, trying to escape to the mountains. There was such a crowd that I lost my dad. I started crying but I continued running to survive. Then somebody caught me and said , " I'll protect you and take you back to your parents later" . I believed him.

Le village était sous le feu, les gens(le peuple) criaient et il y avait des cavaliers partout. Mon père et moi avons exécuté(dirigé) et avons fonctionné(couru), essayant de m'échapper aux montagnes. Il y avait une telle foule que j'ai perdu mon papa. J'ai commencé à pleurer mais j'ai continué à fonctionner(courir) pour survivre. Alors quelqu'un m'a attrapé et a dit, "je vous protégerai et vous reprendrai à vos parents plus tard". Je l'ai cru.
