A. Plan of Investigation
The purpose of this investigation is to understand the battle of one man to restore justice and equality for everyone in a country in which only special interests and money dictated the law. The revolution in Cuba was made possible by the use of guerilla warfare and the voice of this revolution was Che Guevara. What were Ernesto Che Guevara’s aims and achievements in the Cuban Revolution of 1959? To answer this question, this essay will first examine the socio-political situation in Cuba at the time and then go on to illustrate what the goals of Guevara’s revolution were and whether or not he carried out his intentions.
B. Summary of Evidence
The socio-political situation in Cuba in 1959 under the Batista government was inadequate for the people of Cuba. Batista’s reign came after a coup d’etat which was “illegimate” and was carried out by aggressive forces (Sinclair, p.90). The people of Cuba had wanted a powerful and just government after its prior one whose form of administraton had been deficient in upholding the rule of law and had put Cuba on a downward spiral (Sinclair, p.43).
