Final Essay: Autobiography
What do people write about?
What do people write about? Humans wrote fictions, romans, poesy and so much other art of writing. But most of people write autobiography because it is a way unique to express them without talking. Some persons write about their life and most of the time, a life that have been hard (I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou). Some persons write about their life changing of their self-person (My own autobiography) or also some person writes about their events important in their life (Roots by Alex Haley). In all these autobiography, people want to give information of what they lived, transmit emotions and relieves themselves in writing.
Maya Angelou writes without finesse about all her own life that was very hard and complicated. She wrote a lot of book to tell all her story. She speaks about racism and segregation. “If growing up is painful for the Southern Black girl, being aware of her displacement is the rust on the razor that threatens the throat. It is an unnecessary insult.” (p.13). Two subjects that are really touch her during her life. She wrote about her life which was much time hard and during she was often hurt because of her color. She explain what is to be hated because of her skin’s color and tries to make the reader that did not lived that feels her emotions, “The Black female is assaulted in her tender years by all those common forces of nature at the same time that she is caught in the tripartite crossfire of masculine prejudice, white illogical hate and Black lack of power. The fact that the adult American Negro female emerges a formidable character is often met with amazement, distaste and even belligerence. (p.203)” In a way she tries to give her feelings as a black person during a period where the racism was part of the daily life.
