Le Premier Homme de Camus ou l’amour recouvré

Résumé : Dans Le Premier Homme, d’Albert Camus, Jacques Cormery, son alter ego, vit une enfance très dénudée, entre une mère éteinte, une grand-mère tyrannique et un père absent. Il en ressort un grand manque de tendresse. « En somme, je vais parler de ceux que j’aimais », écrit-il dans une note pour Le Premier Homme. Il reconstitue dans ce roman, une famille et un vécu bien réels, ceux de Camus, par le biais de personnages aux identités fictives. A son ami, Michel Gallimard, qui lui rendait visite en compagnie de son épouse Janine et de leur fille, il confia qu’il travaillait sur un roman, un troisième cycle en quelque sorte, après l’absurde et la révolte,
« ce serait sur l’amour»…Il n’ira pas jusqu’à la fin de cet ambitieux projet. Il meurt dans un accident de voiture le 04 Janvier 1960.

Abstract: In Albert Camus’s The First Man, Jacques Cormery, his alter ego, lives a miserable childhood, torn follows a dull mother, a tyrannical grandmother and an absent father. There follows a lack of affection tenderness. In a note to The First Man, he writes: “In short, I am going to talk about those I loved.” In this novel, he recreates a real family and a real life, which are in fact those of Camus, through characters with fictional identities. He revealed to his friend, Michel Gallimard, who came on a visit with his wife Janine and their daughter that hi was working on a novel, a kind of third cycle after the absurd and revolt, and “it would be on love”…He will never accomplish this ambitious project. He dies in a car on 4th January 1960.
