Building of a Mosque at Ground Zero

Nowadays, 2 years after his election, Barack Obama supports the building of a mosque in New York City. It is located more precisely, just near “ground zero”, the site of the World Trade Center.
This project triggered several conflicts in America.
Firstly, Ground Zero is a delicate site since 2001, and there are lots of opponents who don’t want an Islamic community in the Manhattan center; specifically, to several hundred feet away from the site of the Twin Towers.
That’s why, the president acknowledged ‘’sensitive’’ the site around Ground Zero. But he said that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else.

Then, in August 2010, a New York developer announced his plan to build this Islamic community center and the mosque at this place. Immediately, lots of Republican politicians have attacked the project. They are supported by some relatives of people killed in the terror attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. Of course, Obama has protected the developer.
At this time, the fight between Republicans and Democrats continued with this subject, and it’s a reason why the president loses the election of the House of representative. The opponents accuses the president of a “Stab in the heart”
Despite these complications, Obama continues the fight to build the mosque. He said to the group of US Congressmen that America’s traditions of religious tolerance differentiate the real enemies.
