Le groupe Castle Way s'est formé en décembre 2007, regroupant à l'origine Michaël Dervey, le batteur, Alexandre Hiltmann, le guitariste premier, Lucas Pahlish, le flutiste et Julian Gomez, le chanteur. Le second guitariste, Nicolas Voirol, les a rejoint peu de temps après, en début 2008 et leur bassiste, Nathanael Segui a complèté le groupe en mi-2008. Leurs passions communes sont le médiéval fantastique et la musique, plus précisément le métal, et ils ont donc naturellement opté pour un style qui regroupait ces deux domaines : le Viking Métal. Inspirés de groupes comme Ensiferum, Amon Amarth, Turisas, mais aussi de certains groupes de Black Métal, ils ont réunis plusieurs styles de musique dans leur compositions et ont donc des chansons assez diverses, tout en restant dans l'esprit "Viking", qui est leur inspiration première. Ils ont eu l'opportunité d'enregistrer une première maquette de deux titres, qu'ils ont complèté avec un enregistrement live à l'occasion de leur premier concert au Pont Rouge, à Monthey.

Biography: The original members of Castle Way, Julian Gomez the singer, Lucas Pahlish the flutist, Alexander Hiltman the first guitarist and Mickael Dervey at the drums first got together in December 2007. Nicolas Voirol joined them soon after, begining 2008, as the second guitarist, and the bass player, Nathanael Segui completed the group mid 2008. Their common interests being the Fantastic Middle Ages and music, or more precisely, Metal, they naturally settled for a style that concerned both : Viking Metal.
