Men and Pokemon live in a world so similar to ours. However, many people with jobs or at least for leisure (because it's not really an activity remunerated), collect the Pokemon, which constist to travel the world in purpose to catch all. Is that result the famous "Gotta catch them all" in French "Attrapez les tous". Alternatively, people trains their Pokémon, to make them fight against other Pokémon trainers, the ultimate goal being to become a Pokémon master: For this a trainer must first win all badges of the country (sort of medal that attests to the victory against a local champion) before facing the Pokémon League composed of elite trainers, often called the "Council of 4".
Now that I have presented the world of Pokémon, it’s time to the most important question: what is a Pokemon?
Like I said precedently, Pokémon are imaginary creature who have différents powers which vary according to each one. They can be very variable in size. Some Pokémon like animals (Rattata, Pidgey), other plants (Bellsprout), other objects (Voltorb) and others resemble nothing at all (Koffing). Pokémon can not speak but most of them know that their name and repeat all day long, which besides being annoying admittedly them look stupid. Each Pokemon has a type (see 2) which determines its attacks and explains its strengths and weaknesses: for example a water Pokémon Pokémon will be strong against a fire because the water put out the fire. Some Pokemon also have the ability to evolve in response to training sessions or Pokemon match, which means that the Pokémon is changing and improving its combat ability.
