Greenpeace est une organisation indépendante et non gouvernementale qui lutte pour la protection de l’environnement. Fondée en 1971 au Canada, par Jim Bohlen et Irving Stowe après le mouvement Don't Make a Wave Committee visant à s'opposer aux essais nucléaires aux États-Unis, Greenpeace est maintenant la plus importante organisation écologiste financée par ses membres au monde. Greenpeace est présente dans 42 pays et compte plus de 3 millions de membres dans le monde, dont 40 000 au Québec.

Greenpeace is an independent and not governmental organization which fights for the environmental protection. Established in 1971 in Canada, by Jim Bohlen and Irving Stowe after the movement « don’t Make a Wave Committee » which oppose to nuclear tests in the United States, Greenpeace is now the most important ecologist organization financed by her members to the world. Greenpeace is present in 42 countries and counts more than 3 million members in the world, among which 40 000 in Quebec.
