(“Be Healthy” is an association for the children to explain to them why is important to eat well. It’s substantial to take the good way when we are young. It’s why this assiocation go to each class of High school to explain how eating and what the consequences are.

(You must have a healthy diet because you can have seriously problems. To have a healthy means to eat well, to eat vegetables, fruits but no sweets, no candies. Of course, you can eat this but no regularly !

WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT EATING HEALTHY ?

You can be obese, have dental problems, mood swings, indigestion and fatigue.

(This picture explains that, almost in all the United States, more of a quarter of the population is obese.

(The graphic explain that, in thirty years, the percentage of US Adults’ obese increased of 20 %. In 2006, nearly 30% of American adult are obese.

THE KEY TO A HEALTHY DIET

I. You must eat a starchy food, who means eat potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and cereals. It’s very important because it’s a source of energy. These foods contain fiber, calcium, iron and B vitamins.

II. To eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. A lot of people know that we should eat this but they don’t eat enough. You have to try to eat 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day.

III. To eat more fish. It’s an excellent source of protein and contains many vitamins and minerals.

IV. Reduce saturated fat and sugar. To healthy, we need some fat in our diet. What is important is the kind of fat we are eating. There are two main types of fat :

• Saturated fat: having too much can increase the amount of cholesterol in the blood, which increases the chance of developing heart disease.

• Unsaturated fat: who reduce the cholesterol.

V. Try to eat less salt, less than 6g a day.

VI. Get active !

VII. Drink a lot of water. We should eat 1 liter per day to not be dehydrated.
