-The Jungle Book is a collection of short stories written by Rudyard Kipling in 1894 and inspired by his travels in India. This is probably his most famous work. All these stories were published in magazines in 1893/1894. The best known of all are three stories telling the adventures of Mowgli, a 'little man' raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. -The author chose this title because quite simply, is a compendium of history coming from the jungle. -This book is part of the genre: adventure as Mowgli through many tests and also animals from other chapters. -This story was adapted to film many times, including two animated by the studio Walt Disney Pictures, one in 1967 and the second in 2003. It will also adapted in video games, in 1914. The song "there takes little to be happy" is very well known. -The story about Mowgli happens entirely in the jungle, and the others happen in the jungle or as “the white seal” happen in the sea. -The main intrigue of this book is whom mowgli is a human being who will bring up by wolves and who learns to be a member of their pack, but there is all the same a man, so can he adapt himself to this lifestyle... -There are different characters in the first three chapters are the main character who is Mowgli, as well as those who will have a big impact in history: Baloo, Sher khan, Kaa, Bagheera and Akela. Then, in the other three chapters, the most important characters are the principal : kotick, Rikk-Tikki-Tavi and toomai.
