Macbeth Essay

The nature and effects of evil rule the global action of the plot.
Evil is a mystical force, noticeable in the shape of the three witches whose successful temptation of Macbeth threatens to plunge the world back into the chaos from which, as the Elizabethans supposed, God released it, when he created order and morality.
Lady Macbeth is by far the toughest and more vicious member of the couple. Lady Macbeth is a very ambitious, and she obviously shows that se wants King Duncan’s crown. Thus she is going to do everything in her power to influence, almost force Macbeth to get it for her.
Throughout the play, we can definitely feel that there is somehow some chaos. In the first scene, we can notice that the witches will declare “Fair is foul, and foul is fair”. And this paradox is therefore definitely going to set the tone. This connects to the supernatural because it is a quote from the witches who are the main supernatural beings in 'Mactbeth'. This is significant because it sets the tone for the play and is the initial, yet reoccurring theme. This is the first hint at distorted perception and the unclear divide between good and evil. After that, Macbeth is actually going to wonder whether if the witches are on his side or not, and what are the consequences of murdering a king will be, or how is it going to affect the existing structure. Chaos is suggested in several ways; first by the witches’ prediction, second by the relationship between Macbeth and his wife, or even by the series of assassination Macbeth is going to make, under the large influence of his wife. Birds of prey and snakes will then also suggest a kind of sinister, intimidating and threatening environment. And Mother Nature is then twisted upside down after the assassination of the king, when hawks are killed by their preys, and Duncan’s horses start to eat each other. Thunder, lightning, and storms could also be connected with the witches and the evil’s
