Two Seouls : Gangnam and Gangbuk
Seoul is a metropolis with two distinct regions. Before 1990, and before the political democratization, Seoul had always supported the opposition party. However with the democratization, the politics became to divide into two and Seoul, too, began to divide into two. The division of Gangnam and Gangbuk is a fruit of the economic division. Gangbuk is an old city including the center of Seoul, and since 1970, because the old city was too crowded, the government constructed a new city, Gangnam, for dispersing the population. The government constructed the new city which was well planned. Therefore Gangnam attracted the middle class or the upper class and the housing, educational facilities, public transportation and the cultural infrastructure are well arranged, meanwhile Gangbuk remains
