Appréhension de la justice dans le conte merveilleux

A BSTRACT
While mirroring the collective unconscious, fairy tales show several diff erent concepts and representations of justice. Th rough a comparative approach to diff erent versions of the same plot, a trend towards ‘absolute’ justice can be observed in German narratives, folk tales appear to be basically amoral, whereas compositions targeted at the public of French salons of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries often include a praise of virtues and an assessment of the need for atonement.
Social justice is limited to the search for personal benefi ts by peasants willing to raise their social status, or by members of the upper classes striving to keep their influence unabated while defending the order of old. Christian forgiveness, in turn, is never applied to aliens acting outside a given group.
Since judges and God are not generally deemed worth of trust, the poor and the weak can only act in self-defense, relying on their own intelligence or slyness. As far as female characters are involved, they only enjoy relevant positions in folk tales, mostly as active ‘avengers.’

Sprawiedliwość w bajkach magicznych
Bajka magiczna jako zwierciadło nieświadomości zbiorowej ukazuje różne rozumienia i wyobrażenia sprawiedliwości. Zestawienie wersji tego samego wątku bajkowego pozwala zauważyć tendencję ku sprawiedliwości „absolutnej” w bajkach niemieckich (zebranych przez braci Grimm), potwierdza swoistą amoralność bajki ludowej oraz wartość zasług i konieczność zadość uczynienia we francuskich baśniach salonowych (XVII i XVIII w.). Dążenie do sprawiedliwości społecznej sprowadza się do poszukiwania własnych korzyści: wieśniacy pragną wspiąć się po drabinie klasowej, a światowcy – zachować wpływy i dawny porządek.
