Jacques Chirac succeeded in aligning people and he liked to communicate with people. He was close to French citizens. He attached importance to meet and talk with people in the different cities of France. For example he had a strong link with farmers, his passion for the farming show, it was the symbol of this relationship. He succeeded in gather people around him, forexample the Corrèze region didn’t vote for the right political party before the election in 1995, Chirac managed to convince people thanks to his social skills.
He has got an image of someone who enjoys good food, wines, and life in general, he promoted the French culture. He used to go on walkabouts and shake hands, for instance during a visit in Jerusalem, he was very angry against hisbodyguards because he couldn’t approach people. Furthermore, he had good relationship with the others presidents. He has social skills among others leader’s qualities.

A leader has many qualities and skills to reach his objectives. One of the most important is the determination and the motivation to go to the top, in spite of difficulties.
During his political career, Jacques Chirac has shown thathe had these necessary skills. He started his career during the presidency of Georges Pompidou, in 1965, without experience. However, Jacques Chirac was successful in Corrèze, the place where he was born. With his motivation and his dynamic view of policy, he reached his objectives, become the leader of Corrèze, in spite of his lack of experience and his political opponents.
In 1974, after thedeath of Georges Pompidou, he decided to support Valery Giscard d’Estaing. His work and his determination made possible the election of Giscard d’Estaing. With his motivation, he rallied many political personalities against his main opponent, Jacques Chaban-Delmas. Jacques Chirac was the architect of Giscard d’Estaing’s victory. He became one of the most famous leaders in the Right.
During theeighties, Chirac became the main leader of the Right. He didn’t hesitate to eliminate his opponents, like Jacques Chaban-Delmas, Valery Giscard d’Estaing, problems for his high ambition.
In 1981 and 1988, Jacques Chirac was a candidate to the presidency of the Republic. In spite of his two defeats, he was successful to rally many famous personalities at his cause. His motivation impressed hisopponent, François Mitterrand, and he became the Price Minister of the new government.
In 1995, he reached his last goal: become the president of France. In spite of his opponents, many criticism and destabilizations, Jacques Chirac continued his work. His determination permitted to him to reach his dream.
To conclude, we can say Jacques Chirac was a political leader. He had many skills, asmotivation and determination, which let him to reach his objectives.
In spite of the difficulties and his opponents, Chirac was successful in his projects, and he became one of the most popular people in France.

In Jacques Chirac’s life we can see he have a lot of experiences in political world:
The international press has beenquick to appreciate Chirac's "bulldozer" style Chirac has come across as forceful, experienced, and knowledgeable.
He started his political career in Correze in 1965, becoming city councilman. He follows the requirement of George Pompidou and Pierre Juillet. These second men knew the entire political world and he had a power of break a career. He learnt the political secret world at Jacques ChiracHe subsequently occupied various senior positions, including:

- In 1972 he became Minister of Agriculture,
- In 1974 he became Minister of the Interior,
- He becoming Mayor of Paris from 1977 to 1995.
- He served twice as Prime minister from 1974 to 76 and 1986 to 88, before to becoming president in 1995
