The Fort Hood shooting A shooting occurred in Fort Hood on the 5th of November 2009. Fort Hood base, in Texas, is the biggest US military base in the world. Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a US Army psychiatrist, opened fire with two hand guns in the Soldier Readiness center killing 13 people and wounding 30 others.
