Forrest Gump characters :

Forest is a disease person, he is restricted mentally. He does not take in things as a normally intelligent man would do.
Forrest interprets everything literally. He does not understand irony or sarcasm. For Forest, there is no prejudice against black people, foreigners, religion or the disabled. The film's characters must teach him many things, but he is also a teacher because he teaches them integrity, acceptance and decent.

Mrs Gump is a single woman, who always telling her child that his father is “on holiday” and will not return. Forrest is always treated like a normal person by her and she wants that the others do this too.
She really loves her only child despite his mental and physical handicaps. In order to make it possible for Forrest to attend a normal school, she gives her body to the director of college for her son because she wants that her son join the normal education. She is ready to eat humble pie for her son and she never say die. His mother is the most important woman in Forrest’ life, her impact is even much stronger than Jenny’s. For example, Forrest immediately leaves Dan on their boat as soon for his mother. He jumps overboard.

Jenny: at the beginning of the film, it's jenny the guardian angel of forest.
But after, the two characters are separate and we see that jenny's life takes a bad turn in contrast of Forest’s life. Forest became the Jenny’s guardian angel. The complicated love story between Forrest and Jenny are probably the most intense moments of the film. Although Jenny goes wrong, Gump still loves her and protects her a lot.

Lieutenant Dan is the only male friend Forest with Bouba. Forest saves his live in Vietnam. For a very long time, Dan cannot forgive that Forrest is responsible for the fact that he is still alive: both legs amputated and in a wheelchair. But Forest cannot understand that a person desires to die. For Forrest all people are the same, even if they lost their legs.
