I)Early life

Queen Elizabeth II or Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born on the 21st April in 1926 at 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair, London. She was the first child of The Duke and Duchess ofYork, who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I. At the time she stood third in line of succession to the throne after Edward, Prince of Wales later King Edward VIII, and her father, TheDuke of York.
Her nickname is “Lilibet”.

But it was not expected that her father would become King, or that she would become Queen.
In 1930, Elizabeth had a sister called Margaret Rose. At six yearsold, Elizabeth had her own small house, which was given to her by the people of Wales in 1932.
Elizabeth's quiet family life came to end in 1936, when her grandfather, King George V, died. Hiseldest son came to the throne as King Edward VIII (Elizabeth’s uncle) but, before the end of the year, King Edward VIII had decided to give up the throne in order to marry the woman he loved. Elizabeth'sfather acceded to the throne as King George VI, and in 1937 the two Princesses attended their parents' coronation in Westminster Abbey in London.
Princess Elizabeth was now first in line to thethrone.

II)Marriage ,family and life.

Philip Mountbatten and Elizabeth II were married in Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947. They have four children: _ Prince Charles now Prince of Wales_Princess Anne now the Princess Royal
After Princess Elizabeth became Queen she had:
_ Prince Andrew, her son was born in 1964.
_Prince Edward
They have eightgrand-children.

III)Her coronation

In 1952, King George VI's illness (maladie) forced him to abandon his proposed visit to Australia and New Zealand, her daughter and Philip took his place. OnWednesday, 6 February 1952, Princess Elizabeth received the news of her father's death and her own accession to the throne, while staying in a remote part of Kenya.
