Object: request of indulgence

During a travel made on October 27th between … and …, on the occasion of a control made by one of your agents, I was in irregular situation. The agent imposed me a Penalty Fare to the amount of ….

My station of departure does not contain neither ticket office, neither a self-service ticket machine, and the permit to travel machine didn’t work. I inquired during my arrival in England with an agent of the line, who indicated me that I could get on the train, then contact an agent to buy my ticket. During this travel no agent was in the train. I was not thus able to buy my ticket as I thought of making it.

I did not voluntarily omit to buy a ticket. I thus ask you, considering my good faith, to cancel this fine.

Lors d’un trajet effectué le 27 octobre entre … et …, à l’occasion d’un contrôle effectué par un de vos agents, je me suis trouvé en situation irrégulière. L'agent m’a infligé une amende d'un montant de ….

Ma gare de départ ne comporte ni guichet, ni distributeur de billets. Je me suis renseigné lors de mon arrivée en Angleterre auprès d'un agent de la ligne, qui m'a indiqué que je pouvais monter dans le train, puis contacter un agent pour acheter mon billet. Lors de ce trajet aucun agent ne se trouvait dans le train en début de parcours, je n'ai donc pu acheter mon billet comme je pensais le faire.
